As excitement builds for the Bugerere Stabex EMC Rally 2025, Women in Motorsport Uganda (WIM.UG) is once again reaffirming its commitment to environmental responsibility alongside the thrill of motorsport. In collaboration with Segamu 14 Consult, we are proud to launch a tree-planting initiative in Jinja and Kayunga districts, designed to help preserve our environment while we race.
Addressing Motorsport’s Environmental Impact
While motorsport brings communities together, promotes talent, and boosts local economies, it also contributes to carbon dioxide emissions through rally cars and event-related logistics. Recognizing this, WIM.UG and Segamu 14 Consult are taking proactive steps to offset this environmental footprint by planting trees along and around rally routes and in public community spaces.
This initiative will:
- Improve air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen.
- Help combat soil erosion and promote biodiversity in the rally areas.
- Encourage environmental awareness and community involvement in motorsport events.
